iOS app

The iOS app is a product shell. It loads the live website at summitscribe.app and adds native capture and notifications. It is not a separate account or a rewrite of the product.

Package: com.summitscribe.app.

Install and sign in

The iOS app ships through TestFlight. An App Store listing is not available yet; if your team invited you, install from TestFlight. Sign in with email, Google, or Apple. Google/Apple return into the app; do not finish only in Safari.

Recording

Native capture owns every recording in the iOS app:

1. Tap Record on Home (or start from a meeting).
2. Allow microphone when asked.
3. Optionally turn on Include system / meeting audio before you start. When recording begins, iPhone shows a Screen Recording picker so we can hear other apps (a meeting, a speaker, YouTube). Confirm SummitScribe in that picker. A red recording indicator stays on while this is included.
4. If you cancel the picker, wait it out, or an app blocks capture, we keep your microphone only. The meeting still records.
5. A Stop notification stays up so you can end capture from the lock screen. Capture can continue with the screen off.
6. Take notes and photos as on the web. The screen can stay awake while the live bar is showing.

Long meetings upload in segments. The native audio session keep-alive plus native capture keep the session alive.

Default Record is microphone only. The Screen Recording picker appears only when the include-system toggle is on for that next recording.

After processing

If you opt in, a local notification can tell you when AI is ready. Open the meeting from Home.

Subscriptions

iOS subscriptions come in a later app update. You cannot start a Stripe checkout inside the iOS app, and there is no Google Play purchase on iOS. Free hours still apply. See Plans and billing.

Offline

Keep offline stores a meeting pack in the app library. Cold start with no network can open a local offline page. See Offline.

Honesty about system audio

We use Screen Recording only to hear other apps. We do not save or upload video. Some apps (Zoom, WebEx, Teams) may still block it. If include-playback is off, you cancel the picker, or the other app blocks capture, you still have the microphone.

Video calls on this iPhone

iPhone will not share the microphone with Webex, Zoom, Teams, or a phone call that is already using it. If Record fails for that reason, you see a sheet: Try SummitScribe on your computer instead — not a live timer at 0:00.

• Put the call on a Mac or Windows PC and use the desktop capture app.
• Or leave the call and record the room with this iPhone (your voice and the speakers).
• Remind me later dismisses the sheet so you can take notes without capturing.

Optional Include system / meeting audio is a different path (Screen Recording). Some apps still block that; then you keep the microphone only.
