Stakeholder Update
Category: Project Management
Executive-ready stakeholder or steering-committee update: overall status, accomplishments, metrics, decisions needed, escalations, upcoming milestones.
When to use this template
Use it for the cadence-driven update you send to executives, sponsors, or a steering committee. It is denser than Status Update and is structured to lead with status and the asks the stakeholder needs to act on. For ground-level weekly progress, Status Update is a better fit.
Fields captured
- Overall status — one-line health (RAG or similar).
- Reporting period — the window the update covers.
- Major accomplishments — the wins worth highlighting.
- Key metrics — name, value, target, and trend per metric.
- Decisions needed — each decision with context and a deadline for the stakeholder.
- Escalations / asks — explicit asks to the stakeholder.
- Upcoming milestones — name, date, and status per milestone.
- Risks & issues — anything that could derail the period ahead.
- Next steps — concrete tasks with optional owner and due date.
- Key takeaways — the AI's prioritized summary points.
The standard summary, attendees, and per-section summaries also apply.
