Meeting documents
Attach the handouts from a meeting (agendas, slide decks, reports, briefs) so SummitScribe can fold them into your notes and answer questions about them. Documents work on the website and in the Windows app. Phone apps do not show the Documents section yet.
Supported files
| Type | Extensions |
|---|---|
| Word | .docx, .doc |
| PowerPoint | .pptx, .ppt (speaker notes are read too) |
.pdf | |
| Text | .txt, .md |
Limits: 25 MB per file and 200 pages or slides per file. Password-protected or encrypted files are rejected with a clear message. Spreadsheets are not supported.
Add a document
Open the meeting and go to Overview. Below User Notes and Photos is the Documents section. Click Add document and pick a file (on the website you can also drag a file onto the section).
Each file shows a status while it is processed:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Uploaded | The file is stored on your meeting |
| Converting | Older .doc / .ppt files are converted first |
| Extracting | Text is read page by page or slide by slide |
| Analyzing | AI writes a summary, key points, decisions, and action items |
| Ready | The document is part of this meeting's knowledge |
| Error | Something went wrong; the message says why |
You can open or download a document at any time, and delete it from the same list.
Rebuild notes with documents
If the meeting already has AI notes when a document becomes Ready, SummitScribe does not rewrite those notes on its own. A Rebuild notes with documents button appears instead. You confirm first, then the AI notes are regenerated with the document content merged in. Your own User Notes are never replaced.
If you add documents before notes are generated, they are included automatically the first time notes are created.
Ask about your documents
Chat and Search / Ask can answer from document content and cite the document and page or slide. In Memory search, use the Documents filter to see only document results.
Privacy
Documents are stored privately on your meeting and only you can open them. Document text is not used to train AI models. See the Privacy Policy and AI processing.
